WOLVES

A Traditional Tale from the Cherokee Nation

A Cherokee Elder was telling his grandson about a fight that was going on inside him.

“There is a fight going on inside me between two wolves: one is evil filled with anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment and inferiority; and the other is good filled with joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness and empathy.

The grandson thought about it and asked, "Which wolf wins?"

The Grandfather replied, "The one I feed."
